Excel Occupational Health Clinic has been providing sports medicine services since its inception in 2001. Headed by lead physicians, Dr. Joe Laluya and Dr. Ed Pillar, EOHC provides a comprehensive sports medicine team approach including the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.

We here at EOHC focus on the individual, offering a very specific personalized approach to care and recovery. Whether you are a high school, collegiate, professional or recreational athlete - EOHC strives to provide the best care in a state-of-the-art facility to return you back to your sport.

Our physical therapy team consists of board certified physical therapists and athletic trainers. They, along with the EOHC physicians, will design a recovery program for your specific needs. Whether you are overcoming an isolated injury or recovering from surgery, our team will devise a program to restore function and return you to your optimal performance.

Dr. Laluya has served as team physician for Morton College, Reavis High School, Queen of Peace High School, and Maria High School since 2000. Dr. Laluya also has team physician experience at the NCAA Division I level. The team physician function consists of many responsibilities including on-the-field management of injury, training-room coverage, and follow up and continued care of athletic injury. When injuries do occur, EOHC physicians and athletic trainers provide rapid diagnosis, treatment, surgical intervention if needed, and therapy to minimize player down time. EOHC prides itself in its individualized approach, attempting to keep the athlete in motion while providing a healthy and safe environment for injury recovery.

Dr. Laluya and Dr. Pillar both completed their residency training at Rush Medical Center here in Chicago and are board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr. Laluya completed his sports medicine fellowship at the University of Illinois in Chicago. Like many of their patients, both physicians are avid participants in athletic endeavors and have competed at the collegiate level. Having this first hand experience with sports makes them well suited in their doctor/patient relationship with the athletes they treat.
